What they need
Process/Controls Engineer
Let's talk about what "supporting production" actually means at most facilities — because it usually means you're the one they call when something's broken, something needs to be built, or something needs to work better than it does right now. Not glamorous. Genuinely essential.
We're looking for someone who's comfortable living at the intersection of capital projects, hands-on troubleshooting, and process improvement — someone who can walk from a P&ID drawing to the actual piece of equipment it describes, and diagnose what's going on with both.
If you like variety, if you're the kind of engineer who wants to see your projects actually get built and not just live in a file somewhere, and if "hands-on" isn't just a phrase on your resume — keep reading.
What you'll actually be doing
Leading capital projects, start to finish
You'll execute capital projects across the entire facility — production, R&D, Quality, Facilities, all of it. This isn't a "hand off the design and walk away" role. You're involved in making these projects real.
Keeping production moving forward
When process changes or modifications are needed, you're the one implementing them. You'll work directly with the production floor to make sure changes actually solve the problem they're meant to solve.
Troubleshooting when things go sideways
Maintenance will lean on you when issues get complicated — especially anything touching process or controls. You're comfortable diagnosing a problem that spans mechanical, electrical, and process systems, not just staying in one lane.
Owning facility support
HVAC, electrical, plumbing — when external trades are involved, you're coordinating them. You're the connective tissue between what the facility needs and who's actually doing the work.
Documenting what matters
Work instructions, batch records, and other documentation for Production and Quality — you'll prepare these so the people relying on them have what they need to do their jobs right.
What you need to bring
Technical skills
- CAD experience
- Ability to generate fabrication drawings for mechanical elements
- Working knowledge of pressure vessel design and safety systems
How you work
- A genuinely hands-on approach — you're not afraid to get out on the floor and troubleshoot in person
- Comfortable operating in an OKR-driven environment where goals are clear and progress is tracked
- Able to move between big-picture project work and in-the-moment problem solving without missing a beat
Education & Experience
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical)
- Preferred: 5-15 years of experience
One more thing
This role exists because a facility like this genuinely needs someone who can do a little bit of everything — design it, troubleshoot it, document it, and see it through. If that mix sounds more energizing than overwhelming, we should talk.
