Position Overview

Ambarella is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and develop a high-performing engineering team responsible for delivering advanced semiconductor, AI vision, and embedded technology solutions.

This leader will be responsible for driving technical execution, managing engineering resources, supporting product development, and partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable products from concept through production.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers.
• Manage engineering projects from architecture and design through development, validation, and production.
• Establish technical priorities, project milestones, resource plans, and engineering performance objectives.
• Partner closely with Product, Hardware, Software, Systems, Operations, and executive leadership to align engineering priorities with business objectives.
• Provide technical leadership across complex semiconductor, embedded systems, AI, and computer vision development initiatives.
• Drive design reviews, technical decision-making, debugging, testing, and performance optimization.
• Identify technical risks and develop effective mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
• Improve engineering processes, development methodologies, documentation, and operational efficiency.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and professional development of engineering team members.
• Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to understand technical requirements and translate them into engineering solutions.
• Ensure engineering deliverables meet applicable performance, quality, reliability, and product requirements.
• Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive engineering experience, including significant experience leading engineering teams or complex technical projects.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Strong experience in semiconductor technology, embedded systems, computer vision, AI/ML, hardware, software, or related technology areas.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex product development programs from concept through production.
• Strong technical problem-solving, architecture, debugging, and engineering decision-making capabilities.
• Proven experience building, mentoring, and managing high-performing engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of product development lifecycles, engineering processes, testing, validation, and quality standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience working in a fast-paced semiconductor or advanced technology environment preferred.

Pay: $175,000.00 - $275,000.00 per year
