Engineering Manager

Talyx Search is partnering with an established Dallas-based manufacturer of engineered industrial equipment to hire an Engineering Manager.

You'll lead the full engineering department, bringing mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering together under one roof. It's a hands-on leadership role where you'll own how engineering work gets planned, reviewed, and delivered, from design all the way through production, testing, and startup. What You'll Be Doing

• Leading and developing a team of Mechanical, Electrical, and Controls Engineers, plus design personnel
• Planning, prioritizing, and assigning engineering workload across multiple projects
• Making sure mechanical, electrical, and controls designs come together as one complete, working system
• Running design reviews and making sure deliverables meet project requirements, company standards, and applicable codes
• Tracking projects from design through release to production, testing, and startup
• Spotting technical risks, design conflicts, and schedule issues early and getting ahead of them
• Owning engineering documentation and change control, including drawings, BOMs, programs, revisions, and ECNs
• Supporting production with engineering issues on the shop floor and leading resolution of complex or escalated technical problems
• Coordinating engineering support for startup and field troubleshooting when needed
• Building and improving engineering standards, procedures, and workflows to reduce errors and rework
• Keeping leadership and other departments updated on project status, priorities, risks, and resource needs
• Recruiting, training, coaching, and evaluating engineering staff

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related engineering discipline
• Progressive engineering experience in manufacturing, industrial equipment, or engineered products
• A track record leading engineers or multidisciplinary engineering projects
• Solid project management skills: scheduling, resource planning, prioritization, and follow-through
• Enough working knowledge across mechanical, electrical, and controls to manage multidisciplinary projects and make sound technical calls
• Comfortable reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and standards
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with pumps, motors, valves, instrumentation, VFDs, control panels, PLCs, and HMIs
• Background supporting production release, testing, startup, and field troubleshooting of engineered equipment
• Familiarity with CAD/PDM systems and engineering change control
• Knowledge of NEC (NFPA 70), UL 508A, and IEC standards
• Prior direct supervisory or engineering management experience

Pay: $105,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
