Engineering Manager

Title: Engineering Manager - Continuous Improvement

Location: Fontana, California

Salary: $140,000-160,000 + bonus + benefits

JBAndrews has partnered with a multi-billion-dollar provider of distribution services, warehousing and supply chain solutions. The company are a top global 3PL provider with over 10 million sq/feet of warehouse space across the United States.

The role:

• Develops tactical strategies and leads team to identify, gain alignment on, and implement improvements to our operations through process change, layout modifications, or software functionality usage.

• Identifies risks and mitigation plans to proposed improvements and effectively communicates those as needed, including to executives

• Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities and ensures team supports proposed changes with data and calculations

• Provides guidance and development to team members, fosters a culture of excellence to facilitate increased revenue and customer satisfaction

• Serves as expert on material handling equipment and storage media selection, process design and preferred methods, and slotting and sequencing

• Examines and validates deliverables prepared by team before delivering to the operations team and the customer

• Effectively communicates relevant project information to superiors and customers

• Challenges others to develop as leaders while serving as a role model and mentor

• Researches and maintains knowledge of emerging industry practice

• Other duties as required and assigned

Qualifications/Competencies:

• Knowledge of velocity, inventory, and cube analysis

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual

• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

• Ability to provide clear and direct communications with others, both verbally and in written form

• Must have strong knowledge of warehouse design, material handling equipment and storage media technologies, pick methodology, work measurement, labor management, slotting, and warehouse value added services (i.e., kitting and price labeling)

• Excellent analytical/problem solving capabilities and presentation skills required.

• Prior supervisory/management experience required.

• Must be able to travel up to 30%

Education/Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial or related engineering degree from an accredited institution

• Minimum 10 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Experience in AutoCAD and SQL.

• PC literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• 3PL warehousing, distribution center or fulfillment experience required
