Engineering Manager

About the role

The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and managing the Engineering & QC Department in delivering geotechnical engineering solutions and ensuring technical excellence for all projects involving geosynthetics, soil improvement, slope stabilization, reinforcement, drainage, and related applications. Provide technical leadership by overseeing engineering design, quality assurance, business development support, and successful project execution in accordance with company standards and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Engineering & QC team in planning, designing, reviewing, and implementing geotechnical engineering solutions.
• Review, approve, and ensure the quality and accuracy of engineering calculations, technical reports, drawings, and project documentation.
• Provide technical direction and guidance for projects related to soil improvement, slope stabilization, reinforcement with geosynthetics, drainage system, and other geotechnical applications.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure engineering deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with project requirements.
• Develop and maintain engineering standards, procedures, design methodologies, and quality control systems within the department.
• Support the Sales and Business Development teams by providing technical proposals, design solutions, cost estimations, and client presentations.
• Lead technical discussions, problem-solving activities, and value engineering initiatives with clients, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Oversee field implementation, testing, and monitoring activities to ensure compliance with approved designs and specifications.
• Manage engineering resources, workload allocation, and professional development of engineering staff.
• Conduct technical reviews and risk assessments to ensure project safety, constructability, and regulatory compliance.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a reputable university with a minimum GPA of 3.00.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, including at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and people management skills.
• Strong knowledge of geosynthetics.
• Knowledge of soil testing and field testing of embankment soils.
• Proficient in geotechnical software such as Plaxis, GeoStudio, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or equivalent engineering tools.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings and shop drawings.
• Willing to be assigned to project sites throughout Indonesia.
