What they need

Wendernek Consulting Limited is a leading human resource outsourcing management solutions provider in Nigeria. Our purpose is to provide applied and bespoke solutions to our clients.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Engineering Manager

Job Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the Nigerian engineering team: allocate work, set priorities, and check the quality of output before it is issued.
  • Lead the joint site assessment at the terminal and close out the site data the design depends on: tie-in point, plot, power supply interface, firewater, and fire and gas interfaces.
  • Organize the company’s review of engineering partner deliverables ahead of each gate: assign reviewers, consolidate comments, and track them to close-out.
  • Manage the civil/structural and technical safety subcontracts: scope, deliverables, schedule, and verification of invoices against progress.
  • Act as the client’s routine point of contact in Nigeria, prepare each gate with the Project Manager, and report Nigerian content in line with NCDMB requirements.
  • Prepare the technical content of regulatory submissions and support regulatory engagement, which is routed through the client.
  • Recruit, coach and appraise the engineers, and prepare the team to carry the design into detailed engineering.

Role

  • Head the company’s engineering group in Nigeria. On the FEED, this position leads the Nigeria site and in-country work and coordinates every Nigerian engineering activity so that it supports the programme and gates run from the engineering hub in Canada.

Requirements

  • B.Eng. or B.Sc. in chemical, mechanical or a related engineering discipline; COREN registered.
  • At least 15 years in upstream oil and gas facilities engineering, including at least 5 years leading multidiscipline engineering teams.
  • Has taken at least one FEED or detailed design from kick-off to completion, preferably on a producing (brownfield) terminal or flow station.
  • Working knowledge of Nigerian regulatory requirements (NUPRC, EGASPIN, NCDMB).
  • Experience of HAZID/HAZOP and of managing engineering subcontractors; produced water experience an advantage.
  • Right to live and work in Nigeria, with an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
  • Willingness to stay at a Niger Delta terminal for periods of up to 30 days when the work requires it.
  • Must be willing to work unconventional hours due to the time difference of the parent company which is Canada based.

Salary
