What they need
The company
Runtime have partnered with a fast-growing, well-funded software supply chain and artifact management scale-up. Their fully managed SaaS platform is critical infrastructure for software teams worldwide. Usage has grown more than 30x in three years.
They're building by developers, for developers, and care about craft, openness and transparency. Following strong growth in their engineering team, they're now hiring several Engineering Managers and Senior Engineering Managers to scale their leadership.
The role
This is a highly technical leadership role for someone who moved into management without losing their engineering edge. You'll lead high-performing squads (typically 5–6 engineers) delivering new capabilities on a large-scale, cloud-native platform. Senior EMs will grow to lead multiple squads.
You won't write much code, but you'll take part in system design, implementation and trade-off discussions with senior and principal engineers. You'll need to explain constraints as the platform hits new levels of scale.

- A proven track record of building and sustaining high-performing engineering teams and culture
- Experience building cloud-native SaaS products and working with teams that ship to production frequently
- Ability to build a cohesive team in a remote-first environment
Nice to have
- Familiarity with AWS, Python, Rust, Django, Postgres, ClickHouse, Kinesis, Flink, Lambda, Terraform, React or Next.js
