ENGINEERING MANAGER

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an Engineering Manager for a luxury resort on a remote island in the Caribbean. This is a hands-on operational leadership role responsible for overseeing all engineering, maintenance, and facilities functions across the property. The right candidate is technically strong, solutions-focused, and fully comfortable with the operational realities of a remote island environment. Experience in the Caribbean or a remote island destination is mandatory for this role.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Oversee all engineering and maintenance operations across the property, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and general infrastructure
• Lead, develop, and manage the engineering team, ensuring operational discipline and technical excellence
• Implement and manage a comprehensive preventive maintenance programme for all property assets and equipment
• Respond promptly to breakdowns, emergencies, and guest-impacting issues
• Manage vendor and contractor relationships, procurement, and inventory of engineering supplies and spare parts
• Monitor energy, water, and utility consumption and drive sustainability and efficiency initiatives
• Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and building regulations across all areas of the property
• Collaborate with other department heads to support seamless resort operations

WHAT YOU BRING

• Remote island or Caribbean hospitality experience is mandatory - candidates without this background will not be considered
• Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or Chief Engineer in a luxury hotel or resort environment
• Strong technical knowledge across electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building systems
• Comfortable managing operations in a remote, island-based environment with limited external resources
• Strong leadership and team development skills
• Solid understanding of preventive maintenance programmes, energy management, and compliance
• Single-status preferred for relocation
