The Role

Lead 1-2 teams with a clear mission: front-end, middleware, back-end, data, or platform.

Part of a ∼170-strong engineering org across Delft, Budapest, Kaiserslautern. You report to your domain's senior engineering leader.

This is NOT a process / Scrum Master or hands-off manager role. You lead people + technology together and stay close to tech through design, pairing, reviews, incidents and agent workflows.

What you will do:

1. Set technical direction
   • Set standards, own key decisions, ensure quality, security & stability
2. Grow your people
   • Coach to senior / staff level, hire, make tough calls with care
3. Own delivery
   • Own roadmap & operational outcomes, protect cycle time and quality
4. Lead AI-native
   • Operate agents yourself, build subagents, evals & reusable patterns, keep human accountability clear

Tech

• Agentic: Claude Code is primary env. Agents execute in governed environments.
• Modern: Python, TypeScript, Vue, Postgres, Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform
• Legacy: Java, MS SQL (being decomposed)
• Mechanisms: subagents, MCP tools, multi-agent workflows, shared prompt/agent/eval libraries

Your Profile

Must-have:

• Degree in CS / Software Engineering / IT or equivalent
• Proven Engineering Manager - grown engineers to senior / staff
• Strong technical foundation in front-end, middleware, back-end, data or platform
• Actively working AI-native today
  • Claude Code or similar, you can show your work
• Comfortable with ambiguity & legacy code, strong communicator

Nice-to-have: Led a major tech change, built & shared subagents / evals / conventions
