About the Opportunity

We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead the development, testing, and reliability validation of an existing rotary engine as it advances toward commercial production.

This is an opportunity to work directly with the company's technical founder and production leadership to identify engineering challenges, improve engine performance, and establish the reliability needed for commercial release.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead engine development, dynamometer testing, and endurance validation.
• Investigate engine failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective design changes.
• Analyze test results and verify the effectiveness of engineering improvements.
• Establish engine reliability and readiness for commercial production.
• Drive the transition from engine development and testing to repeatable manufacturing.
• Collaborate with the technical founder, production leader, technicians, and engineering specialists.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership and practical engineering guidance throughout the validation process.

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in engine design, development, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Proven experience in engine failure analysis, root-cause investigation, and corrective engineering.
• Experience leading dynamometer testing, endurance testing, or mechanical product validation.
• Demonstrated ability to move engines or comparable mechanical products from development into production.
• Strong problem-solving, technical leadership, and communication skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Dixon, California.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience with rotary engine design, development, or testing.
• Background in internal combustion engines, powertrain, marine engines, or small-engine development.
• Experience improving product reliability through structured testing and engineering modifications.
