The organization operates in the live events ticketing industry, addressing challenges related to simplifying and modernizing ticket purchasing experiences. Its Core Engineering department manages critical infrastructure and networking that supports the platform, focusing on application frameworks, developer experience, security, and resilience.

About the Opportunity:

The ENGINEERING MANAGER, CORE ENGINEERING will lead one or more teams responsible for maintaining and advancing the technical foundation that powers the platform. This role is essential in shaping the team's roadmap, improving developer experience, and ensuring faster and more reliable delivery of services across the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of senior engineers
• Oversee a core engineering domain ensuring operational excellence and strategic vision
• Conduct code and architecture reviews and provide technical feedback
• Participate actively in recruiting efforts
• Provide regular performance feedback, hold one-on-ones, and support career development
• Collaborate with technical and product partners to align team direction with business goals
• Evaluate and select technology vendors, making build or buy decisions
• Communicate technical and product decisions, resolve issues, and collaborate with leadership

Requirements:

• Experience building and leading productive, motivated teams
• Ability to foster safe, collaborative, and inclusive work environments
• Skilled at managing complex, user-focused roadmaps in dynamic settings
• Capable of explaining technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
• Knowledgeable about technology industry trends to guide tooling and framework choices
• Experience leading cross-functional collaboration among product, design, engineering, and leadership
• Prior engineering experience, with familiarity in tooling and building highly available distributed systems, including container orchestration

Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• Salary range is $171,000 to $248,000 USD
• Equity eligible
• Discretionary annual bonus based on performance
• Actual compensation depends on experience, skills, certifications, and location
