Engineering Manager - Data Center

SR2 is partnering with an exciting organisation operating hyperscale data centers to hire an Engineering Manager, Controls & DCIM.

You’ll lead a team of engineers responsible for Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), driving technical standards, operational performance and continuous improvement across critical facilities.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead and develop a team of DCIM engineers supporting BMS and EPMS environments.
• Drive enterprise standards across BMS/EPMS topology, graphics, functionality and deployment.
• Manage engineering resources, project schedules and service deployments.
• Establish and maintain SOPs, QA processes and engineering standards.
• Monitor performance, resource utilisation, deployment costs and project delivery.
• Lead process improvements designed to increase efficiency and reduce operating costs.
• Support commissioning, qualification and change-control activities.
• Manage technical vendors through Scopes of Work, RFPs and RFIs.
• Support regional engineering teams with BMS/EPMS applications and technical change.

What we’re looking for

• 10+ years’ experience with critical monitoring/control systems or critical facilities.
• 3+ years’ management experience leading engineering or critical operations teams.
• Strong knowledge of BMS and EPMS systems.
• Understanding of electrical power distribution within data centers or similar mission-critical environments.
• Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology or related degree, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong project management, communication and process improvement skills.

Useful additional experience

• Data center environments.
• SCADA (Ignition or AVEVA)
• ALC, Andover, Tridium, Delta Controls or similar BMS/BAS platforms.
• PLCs including Allen-Bradley, Schneider or Siemens.
• HVAC, chiller plants, building automation and controls commissioning.
• Control drawings, Sequence of Operations and functional specifications.
• Single and three-phase electrical systems.
