Engineering Manager, Data Labeling Platform

For our client, we are seeking a Engineering Manager, Data Labeling Platform to join the team of a leader in the Telecommunications & Hardware space.

This role will lead the engineering function behind a data annotation and auto-labeling platform that supports advanced AI workflows and large-scale data operations. You will guide a high-performing team in building scalable systems, improving annotation efficiency, and strengthening the technical foundation of the platform. The position partners closely with technical leaders and executive stakeholders to align engineering execution with broader organizational goals. It is well suited for a hands-on engineering manager who can balance architecture, team leadership, and delivery in a fast-moving environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $200,000 – $391,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high technical standard in system design and programming, guiding robust software practices.
• Build, mentor, and lead a team of high-performing engineers, fostering a culture of excellence.
• Align engineering efforts with strategic goals through stakeholder management and communication with VPs and Research Leaders.
• Architect and implement next-gen auto-labeling applications to enhance efficiency in data annotation.
• Own and optimize the data engineering layer for effective annotation tracking and analytics.
• Direct front-end engineering for custom annotation interfaces tailored to various data modalities.
• Ensure maximum scalability, data integrity, and throughput for the annotation platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a technical lead or management role.
• Strong hands-on background in software, data, or AI application engineering with Python expertise.
• Experience in architecture-level data pipelines, distributed systems, and production ML workflows.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing technical initiatives or mentoring engineers.
• Exceptional communication skills with experience interfacing between technical teams and executive leadership.
