Reporting To: Head of Engineering

• Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of full-stack developers, quality engineers, DevOps engineers, and technical leads.
• Manage the complete software-development lifecycle, including planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Own sprint planning, delivery commitments, resource allocation, and engineering execution.
• Provide technical direction for applications and services developed using C#, .NET, Java, Ruby, and modern web technologies.
• Guide the design of scalable, secure, cloud-native applications hosted on AWS.
• Review system architecture, technical designs, and complex code changes.
• Establish and enforce engineering standards for coding, testing, documentation, security, and deployment.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, business stakeholders, and customer-facing teams to translate requirements into executable technical plans.
• Identify delivery risks, dependencies, and technical debt, and develop appropriate mitigation plans.
• Improve development velocity, product quality, platform reliability, and release predictability using measurable engineering metrics.
• Promote automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and DevOps best practices.
• Manage production issues and ensure timely root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Conduct performance reviews, provide regular feedback, support career development, and participate in hiring and team-building activities.
• Communicate engineering progress, risks, decisions, and outcomes clearly to U.S.-based stakeholders.
• Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and engineering excellence.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 9+ years of software-engineering experience, including at least 2 years in an Engineering Manager or similar leadership role.
• Experience managing remote or geographically distributed development teams.
• Strong technical experience in at least two of the following technologies, with the ability to oversee solutions across the others:
  • C# and .NET
  • Java and related frameworks
  • Ruby and Ruby on Rails
• Strong experience with AWS services and cloud-native application architecture.
• Experience designing and delivering full-stack web applications, APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, data modelling, performance optimization, and system integration.
• Experience with Git-based development, code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Working knowledge of containers, Docker, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, monitoring, and application observability.
• Strong understanding of software security, scalability, availability, and performance.
• Demonstrated success delivering enterprise software within defined timelines and quality expectations.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder-management, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work remotely with consistent availability during U.S. Eastern Time business hours.
• Good to have: Experience enabling AI within an organization or team, with a trailblazer mindset and an AI-first approach to problem-solving.
