Engineering Manager - Member Experience

For our client, we are seeking a Engineering Manager - Member Experience to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space.

This role will lead engineering execution for a member-facing experience team, with a strong emphasis on delivery, quality, and operational health. You will partner closely with product leadership to shape scope, prioritize work, and keep the team aligned on the most important outcomes. The position also requires hands-on technical contribution, strong people leadership, and a practical approach to shipping reliable software in a fast-moving healthcare environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $179,400 – $224,250 annually

Responsibilities

• Own the squad's delivery, including sprint shaping, prioritization, and accountability for decisions
• Improve cycle time while maintaining quality, and communicate changes effectively
• Ship production code every sprint, using the same workflows as the squad
• Collaborate closely with product leadership to align on project scope and avoid conflicting directions
• Foster growth in engineers by providing exceptional leadership and support
• Lead operational health initiatives, including on-call rotations and post-incident analyses
• Escalate issues early and provide data-backed recommendations for tradeoffs

Qualifications

• 6+ years in software engineering, including 2+ years managing engineers or leading delivery for a team
• Proven track record of shipping mission-critical software and owning post-deployment outcomes
• Experience in prioritization and estimation, including the ability to say no and explain decisions
• Skilled in providing direct developmental feedback and managing underperformance with support
• Currently shipping or recently shipped production code in at least one technology layer (backend, web, iOS, Android)
• Familiarity with an expert-generalist team model and its associated risks and opportunities
• Hands-on experience with AI agents in production and a critical view on their impact
