Engineering Officer - Electrical

About the role:

As an Engineering Officer, you’ll combine your practical, hands-on electrical expertise with engineering, problem-solving and project work, contributing to the reliability, performance and continuous improvement of NCIG’s plant and equipment.

You will be involved in delivering small engineering projects, supporting more complex engineering initiatives, and providing technical and fault-finding support across the operation. Working closely with engineers, maintenance and operations teams, you will investigate equipment issues, develop practical solutions and contribute to improvements in plant reliability and performance.

This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone with strong technical and problem-solving skills, who enjoys working collaboratively and is eager to learn, develop and build their engineering capability.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Provide practical engineering support, including fault finding, failure investigations, plant improvement initiatives, shutdown support and technical advice to maintenance and operations.
  • Plan, coordinate and deliver small to medium engineering projects, ensuring appropriate governance and delivery to the required scope, quality, timeframe and budget.
  • Coordinate and support functional safety testing to ensure ongoing compliance with site and functional safety system requirements.
  • Coordinate and support contractors and consultants to ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently, cost-effectively and in accordance with relevant standards and specifications.
  • Work collaboratively within the Assets Team, provide technical support within the relevant engineering discipline, and coach and support technicians and other stakeholders as required.

Candidates:

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring a practical and proactive approach to problem-solving, with strong planning and prioritisation skills, attention to detail and a genuine focus on continuous improvement. You’ll enjoy working collaboratively with others, while being confident taking ownership and working autonomously.

To complement this, you will also have:

  • Electrical Trade Certificate
  • Current Electrical Licence
  • Higher Tertiary Qualifications (desirable)
