Engineering Services Manager

• Demonstrate in depth knowledge of OSHMS Policies and Procedures and ensures its implementation in the hospital.

• Adheres to the appropriate Indoor Air Quality requirements as per OSHMS, local and international applicable standards across the premises.

• Responsible for proper documentation as per OSHMS guidelines within the department.

• To Comply and enforce OSHMS/Local/International guidelines in coordination with management.

• Monitors and implements energy saving methods and performance of utility consumption like water, electricity, paper, waste material, etc.

• Develop and implement appropriate OSH management by ensuring OSH management systems are in place and operating effectively.

• OSH roles and responsibilities include:

  1. Allocate responsibility for OSH management and delegation of authorities;

     1. Ensure adequatebudget and resources for OSH management;
     2. Ensure appropriate OSH supervision of employees;
     3. Implement and monitor effectiveness of risk management program(s);
     4. Ensure appropriate hazard and incident investigations;
     5. Regularly discuss OSH issues at meetings of departments, divisions or senior management;
     6. Ensure provision of OSH information, training and supervision; and
     7. Ensure appropriate emergency procedures are developed.

• Comply with reasonable OSH instructions, policies and safe working procedures

• Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems.

• Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures

• Not willfully or recklessly endanger anyone’s health and safety

• Assist with the preparation of risk assessments

• Report OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and issues

• Reduce, Reuse, Recycling of waste as much as possible

• Attend all OSH Trainings, awareness programs and mock drills.

• Participates in the OSHMS audits, inspections, ensuring standards are maintained.

ELECTRICAL activities

17. Checks the logbook for the day's work.

18. Allocates manpower according to the works needed.

19. Arranges for the required materials.

20. To indent the materials if items are not available.

21. Allocates preventive maintenance work.

22. Ensures that the allocated work is completed.

23. Co-ordinates with Abu Dhabi Distribution Center (ADDC) for the supply of power.

24. Prepares for preventive maintenance.

25. To keep the HVAC system well maintained by the Technicians.

26. To direct technicians to carry out modification works required for the A/C.

27. To instruct Ac tech to Maintains and inspects the chilled water line system.

28. Plans for shutdown works and carryout the same.

29. To inspect all A/C equipment's.

30. Prepares budget for major renovations/modifications.

31. Carries out other works as and when assigned.

UTILITY MAINTENANCE activities

32. Checks the logbook for the day's work and carry out the same.
33. Arranges for routine preventive maintenance.
34. Conducts daily rounds on floors and plant areas to make sure the operations are smooth.

PLUMBING activities

35. Inspects the quality and quantity of water.
36. Ensures there is water for the hospital use.
37. To coordinate and arrange emergency water supply in case of any water issues.
38. To instruct and gets the drainage inspection and necessary works done.
39. Organizes waterline alteration work and major shutdown.
40. Undertakes drainage maintenance.
41. Co-ordinates with corporation personnel in solving problems.
42. To make schedule for the plumbers to Inspects pumps for its proper functioning.
43. Prepares schedule for tank cleaning.
44. Plans, organizes and prepares the budget for new projects.

BUILDING/FLOOR activities:

45. Coordinates with housekeeping and Customer Relations department in solving problems.
46. Carries out work in the facility by co coordinating the activity with the respective HODs.
47. Organizes for minor modifications /renovations.
48. Arrange maintenance contractors as and when required to do necessary civil works.
49. Organizes for the civil and carpentry work in the hospital.
50. Conducts rounds, documents problems and arranges for solutions accordingly.
51. Prepares Work order Sanction and carries out the same.
52. Responsible for carrying out the work requested by the various departments.
53. Informs Head of Departments about problems and obtains approval for carrying out the actions that need to be taken accordingly.
54. Deals with contractors in the respective areas of work.
55. Resolves problems related to patient areas and other public areas.
56. Reports to the systems in charge regarding various breakdowns in plant system and other major problems.
57. To make sure all the necessary tests are being carried out as per the as per the schedules.
58. To keep the building in well maintained condition.
59. Organizes manpower to solve day-to-day problems..

Desired Candidate Profile

1. B.E / Graduate Engineer or equivalent.
2. 5 to 10 years of experience in the relevant field. At least 2 years in management role.
3. Previous work experience in a JCI accredited organization is preferred.
4. Outstanding leadership, management, interpersonal, time management, analytical and problem solving skills.
5. Demonstrated knowledge of equipment and maintenance.
6. Ability to review procedures and implement new models of service delivery to satisfy client and organizational requirements.
7. Demonstrated commitment to quality outcomes and ability to consult with staff regarding continuous improvement.
