Job Title: Engineering Staff / Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

The Engineering Staff is responsible for maintaining the property’s facilities, equipment, and infrastructure to ensure a safe, functional, and comfortable environment for guests and staff. This role requires hands-on technical skills, problem-solving ability, and responsiveness in a dynamic hospitality setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building systems
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff
• Conduct regular inspections of rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities
• Troubleshoot and fix equipment or system malfunctions efficiently
• Ensure proper operation of water systems, generators, air conditioning, and lighting
• Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance inventory
• Coordinate with external contractors when necessary
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and local regulations
• Assist in preventive maintenance planning and execution
• Support setup for events or operational needs when required

Qualifications & Requirements

• Previous experience in engineering, maintenance, or a similar technical role
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair issues independently
• Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
• Good communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Skills

• Experience in hospitality (hotel/hostel/resort maintenance)
• Certification in electrical or mechanical work (preferred)
• Basic English communication skills
• Knowledge of island operations (water supply, generators, etc.)
• Proactive and problem-solving mindset

• May involve emergency or on-call duties
