Engineering Storekeeper

About the role

To be responsible for the engineering storeroom, performing activities such as stocking of engineering materials as a custodian of Stores, inventory control and records, purchasing, and related duties as required.

Key responsibilities

• Loading and unloading of goods from lorry/sea container using reach truck or forklift
• Open packaging material/crate for inspection of goods for damage or discrepancies
• Check specifications and correctness of goods received as per PO
• Perform goods receipt (GR) in SAP on same day of receiving and transfer goods to dedicated rack
• Support on site engineering team by checking physical availability of material
• Ensure everyone writes in goods issuance book if they want to take any item from store
• Perform goods issuance (GI) of items on the same day of goods issued
• Ensure store accurate and warehouse safety with proper arrangement and stock items in designated places
• Check and control daily incoming/outgoing materials and ensure stock accuracy using SAP
• Every month, perform 1 rack manual stock take and submit the list to maintenance planner
• Support ad-hoc requests by maintenance planner/engineering manager for material shifting, housekeeping, stock check, stock take
• Responsible for handling all material tracking, storage and identification
• Issue Purchase Requisition (PR) for all stock items and ad-hoc goods and services as required
• Communicate with other plants in Europe for urgent delivery of stock items
• Responsible for HSE PPE inventory
• Active engagement in plant CI activities and support plant improvement by submitting CI ideas
• Support problem solving initiatives to ensure all major breakdowns are root caused
• Stand-by to response to call-in for rectification of emergency breakdown/problems and work at extended hours

About you

• Must possess at least SPM or other equivalent
• Certificate/diploma in technical/engineering is an added advantage
• At least minimum of 3 years working experience required for this position
• Can operate forklift and electric stacker
• Good knowledge of store arrangement/management system/method
• Able to identify machineries spare parts and the purposes such as various type of bearings, screws, belts, cylinders
• Experience with SAP preferable but not essential; training will be provided
• Solid problem-solving abilities; team player and ability to work on an independent basis
• In addition to Melayu, ability to communicate fairly in English; any other language is a plus
• Ownership for Stores, independent, organized, proactive
• Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team, work within deadlines
• Ability to create and maintain a positive relationship
• Be assertive and have self-confidence in presenting and supporting conclusions
• Able to multi-task and prioritize work
