Engineering Subject Matter Expert

This is NOT a traditional full-time or part-time job.

This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity for experienced engineers who want to earn supplemental income by teaching webinars or authoring online courses.

Decatur Professional Development seeks experienced engineers to share their expertise by presenting webinars or developing online courses. This is a part-time, remote, independent contractor role that can be performed from your home or office. THIS WORK IS INTENDED TO PROVIDE SUPPLEMENTAL INCOME, NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR FULL-TIME EMPLOYMENT.

· Webinar Instructors: Schedule varies month-to-month. Approximately 4 to 20 hours per month.

· Course Authors: Royalty-based compensation only; payment occurs when courses are sold.

WEBINAR INSTRUCTOR

Present live, interactive webinars from the comfort of your home or office. Share your expertise in a discussion-based format. Webinar attendees can ask questions and engage with you throughout.

· Pay: $125/hour of live instruction

· Work Description: You select a topic, create the PowerPoint slide deck and deliver the presentation; we handle the rest

· Flexibility: Webinars are scheduled around your availability

· Extra Income Opportunity: Recordings can also be published as self-study courses, earning you ongoing royalties (See the description below for COURSE AUTHOR)

COURSE AUTHOR

Write course(s) in Microsoft Word format (or record videos) at your own pace and email them to us. Then sit back and earn royalties while we do all the work. Once submitted, we handle formatting, publishing, and sales.

· Compensation: Royalty-based—earn money each time your course is purchased

· No Teaching Required: Courses are self-study; no live instruction needed

· Passive Income: Your courses generate royalties year after year

· Earning Potential: THERE IS NO GUARANTEED AMOUNT OF COMPENSATION. However, top authors earn $50,000+ of recurring income annually from royalties on their courses

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Must be highly knowledgeable and experienced on the topic of your course or webinar presentation.

Must have at least a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field from an accredited university and a minimum of 7 years’ experience practicing as an engineer post-graduation (Registered Professional Engineers are strongly preferred)

CONTRACT WORK

This is 1099 independent contract work. There are no employment benefits associated with this position.
