**About The Role** We are looking for an Engineering Team Lead to lead the core engineering squad behind Bridgewise's flagship B2B SaaS platform. A high-scale, enterprise-grade solution built to power tier-1 global financial institutions and process complex data for millions of users worldwide under strict performance, availability, and security SLAs.

In this role, you will hold end-to-end technical and operational ownership of this high-impact platform driving system architecture, code quality, cloud cost efficiency, and team execution across a distributed engineering squad (Israel and overseas). You will work closely with Product, Algorithms, and Architecture teams to deliver our core product roadmap.

Requirements

• 10+ years of total experience in software engineering, with at least 5+ years in engineering team leadership roles.
• Proven track record of building and managing production-grade B2B SaaS platforms handling complex business logic, and strict SLA/performance metrics.
• Expertise in backend development (Python preferred, or similar modern languages) with a solid foundation in microservices architecture.
• Strong experience with AWS cloud services and container orchestration using Kubernetes (K8s).
• Solid background in NoSQL databases (Couchbase is an advantage) and relational databases.
• Ability to define system designs, defend technical choices, and collaborate constructively with senior architects.
• Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to lead and collaborate with distributed or remote team members (prior offshore management experience is an advantage, not a must)
• Highly autonomous, mature, resilient under high pressure, and comfortable navigating ambiguity in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in FinTech, capital markets, or high-scale financial data platforms.
• Background in API-first platform integrations for enterprise clients.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Growth: Lead, mentor, and inspire a distributed engineering squad (local and remote). Drive hiring, onboarding, and developer growth while fostering an agile, high-ownership culture.
• End-to-End Product Ownership: Own the full software delivery lifecycle of our primary B2B SaaS platform from architecture to production, ensuring high availability, extreme performance, scalability, and cloud cost optimization on AWS.
• Technical Ownership (~30% Hands-On): Conduct thorough code challenges and design reviews, lead architectural discussions, and dive into complex backend challenges when needed.
• Architecture & Scale: Partner with the Chief Architect to design and implement robust Python microservices running on Kubernetes (AWS). Build resilient, high-throughput systems capable of scaling to millions of daily client interactions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers, Algorithm/Data Specialists, and QA to align product roadmaps, manage execution risks, and lead complex platform integrations.
• Engineering Excellence: Enforce high standards for code quality, automated testing (TDD/CI/CD), system monitoring, and operational resilience.
