Engineering Team Leader 📍 Location: Ruskington

🕒 Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off 2 days/2 nights

We're looking for an experienced Engineering Team Leader to join our maintenance team and play a key role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement of our manufacturing operations.

Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager , you'll lead a team of mechanical, electrical, multi-skilled, and semi-skilled engineers while ensuring equipment performance, workplace safety, and engineering standards are maintained at the highest level.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer with supervisory experience who enjoys leading people, solving problems, and driving operational excellence in a busy food manufacturing environment.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading and supporting a team of engineers to deliver maintenance activities safely and efficiently
• Coordinating planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and recording all labour and parts through SAP
• Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime
• Prioritising and allocating workloads in the absence of the Maintenance Manager
• Supporting the training, coaching, and development of engineering and operational teams
• Working closely with production teams to improve equipment performance and reliability
• Managing contractors and visiting engineers to ensure projects and improvements deliver expected results
• Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, food safety, quality, and environmental requirements
• Maintaining accurate engineering documentation and records
• Promoting 5S standards and good housekeeping across the engineering function
• Monitoring utilities and supporting initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency

What We're Looking For ✅ Time-served engineering qualification with at least 4 years' industrial experience

✅ Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills

✅ Previous supervisory or team leadership experience

✅ Experience working within a manufacturing or food production environment

✅ Ability to prioritise workload and make effective decisions under pressure

✅ Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills

✅ IT literate with experience using maintenance management systems

✅ Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable

• Experience within poultry or food processing operations
• Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
• Experience coaching and mentoring engineers and operators
• Continuous improvement mindset
