Engineering Tech - EDM

The Engineering Technician - EDM supports aerospace manufacturing operations within the EDM Department by developing and maintaining work instructions, setting up and troubleshooting EDM machines, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety requirements. This role requires strong technical expertise in EDM processes, precision measurement, G-code interpretation, and aerospace quality standards.

**Key Responsibilities**

• Develop, maintain, and improve **work instructions**, setup sheets, and process documentation for EDM operations.
• **Set up and operate EDM machines** (e.g., wire and/or sinker EDM) according to engineering and quality requirements.
• Identify, analyze, and **correct machine operational and process-related issues** to maintain production efficiency and part quality.
• Interpret and understand **G-code and machine programming**, making necessary adjustments to optimize performance.
• **Train and mentor production employees** on EDM processes, machine setup, inspection techniques, and best practices.
• Monitor, review, and maintain **quality documentation**, including travelers, inspection records, and process control documents.
• Ensure compliance with **aerospace quality standards** and customer requirements.
• Support and participate in **NADCAP and AS/ISO 9100 audits**, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities.
• Perform and verify **precision measurements** using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and comparators.
• Promote and enforce **safety policies and procedures**, ensuring a safe manufacturing environment.
• Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
