About the Organization

Our client is an established beverage manufacturing and bottling company operating in Zambia, Africa. The organization is looking for a practical, hands-on Engineering Technician / Helper to support plant maintenance, fabrication, electrical and general engineering activities.

Role Overview

The selected candidate will support the Engineering and Maintenance team in day-to-day plant maintenance, fabrication, repair and general technical work.

The candidate should be multi-skilled and willing to perform welding, basic electrical, civil and general maintenance activities within an industrial manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out welding and fabrication work involving:

• Stainless Steel (SS)

• Mild Steel (MS)

• Other commonly used industrial materials

• Perform cutting, grinding, fitting and fabrication jobs.

• Assist in repair and maintenance of plant machinery, pipelines, structures and utilities.

• Carry out basic electrical maintenance and troubleshooting under supervision.

• Assist with minor civil works, repairs and plant infrastructure maintenance.

• Support preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.

• Assist in installation and modification of machinery/equipment.

• Maintain tools and engineering equipment properly.

• Follow plant safety, housekeeping and maintenance procedures.

• Work closely with Mechanical, Electrical, Production and Utility teams as required.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 3+ years of practical technical/industrial experience.
• ITI qualification in Fitter / Welder / Electrician / Mechanical or related trade preferred.
• Strong hands-on welding and fabrication experience.
• Ability to work with SS and MS materials is important.
• Basic knowledge of electrical work.
• Exposure to civil maintenance work will be an advantage.
• Experience in a manufacturing / beverage / food / FMCG / industrial plant preferred.
• Physically capable and willing to undertake hands-on engineering work.
• Flexible and willing to handle multiple maintenance activities.

Overseas Employment Requirements

• Must possess a valid passport.
• Must be willing to relocate to Zambia, Africa.
• Willing to work on a 2-year contract.
• Should be adaptable to an overseas industrial working environment.
