Engineering Technician II (7A100 bldg 350)

Supports engineering and manufacturing operations by performing testing, equipment assembly/repair, data analysis, and CAM/CNC production support for complex defense-related components and systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs standardized technical assignments involving a sequence of related operations and follows established work methods and procedures.
• Receives detailed instructions for unfamiliar assignments while routine work is reviewed upon completion for technical accuracy.
• Assembles, constructs, services, and repairs simple or standard equipment, instruments, and components following specific instructions.
• Conducts a variety of tests using established methods, prepares test specimens, adjusts and operates equipment, and records test data.
• Identifies and reports deviations caused by equipment malfunctions or observational errors during testing processes.
• Extracts engineering data from prescribed but non-standardized sources and processes the data using basic algebra and geometry.
• Presents processed engineering data in required formats following defined methods and procedures.
• Serves as a specialist in Computer Aided Manufacturing/Computer Numerically Controlled (CAM/CNC) methods and processes.
• Supports the production of complex missile components, combat vehicles, assemblies, and other defense-related items.
• Evaluates engineering designs and collaborates with engineers to discuss performance requirements and recommend design modifications.
• Recommends alternative designs to improve CAM/CNC equipment utilization for prototyping and life-cycle production efficiency.
• Applies practical knowledge of mechanical engineering, machining, mathematics, and sheet metal fabrication techniques.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1-3 years of experience.
