Senior Engineering Technician

We are seeking a Senior Engineering Technician to join our team and support mission-critical systems for NSWC Panama City. This is a high-profile and technically complex position that requires a skilled problem-solver who can work efficiently, develop practical solutions, and deliver high-quality results to the customer.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical team members. We are looking for someone who can draw on their experience to solve challenging engineering problems, clearly communicate their decisions, and contribute to the success of the team.

Required Qualifications

• Active SECRET security clearance.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented mindset.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex engineering problems and develop effective solutions.
• Ability to clearly explain technical decisions and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel.
• Ability to provide guidance and mentorship to team members while remaining open to feedback and recommendations from others.
• Experience working in an Agile/SCRUM environment, including providing frequent progress updates.
• Ability to provide accurate estimates for assigned tasks and timelines.
• Willingness to ask questions and obtain clarification when additional information is needed to develop an accurate estimate or complete an assignment.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Engineering Technician will perform a variety of technical, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and repair tasks. Responsibilities may include:

• Assemble, install, and integrate equipment and components requiring basic wiring, soldering, and electrical connections.
• Replace electronic components and repair or modify wiring and circuits.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electronic equipment and systems.
• Perform electrical and electronic testing using common test equipment, including digital multimeters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes.
• Perform technical assignments that may not be completely standardized or covered by established procedures.
• Select, adapt, and apply standard procedures, methods, and equipment to address technical requirements.
• Interpret technical instructions, equipment requirements, and guidance provided by supervisors or engineers.
• Independently perform recurring technical tasks while maintaining accuracy and quality.
• Construct components, subassemblies, and models, or adapt standard equipment to meet specific requirements.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and correct equipment malfunctions.
• Document work performed, test results, issues identified, and corrective actions taken.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and other team members to develop and implement effective technical solutions.
• Provide regular status updates and communicate progress, challenges, and estimated completion timelines.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
