Engraver

The position requires attention to detail, craftsmanship, confidentiality, and sensitivity to the religious and memorial nature of the work.

Key Responsibilities

• Engrave names, dates, inscriptions, and other approved information on columbarium vaults and memorial surfaces.
• Carefully verify spelling, dates, formatting, and other details before beginning any engraving work.
• Follow approved engraving layouts, fonts, sizes, and specifications.
• Coordinate with the Inurnment Staff or Columbarium Administrator regarding engraving requests and schedules.
• Inspect completed engravings for accuracy, quality, cleanliness, and proper alignment.
• Maintain and properly operate engraving tools, equipment, and materials.
• Keep the engraving area clean, orderly, and safe.
• Report damaged vaults, equipment problems, or discrepancies immediately.
• Maintain confidentiality and treat all deceased persons and their families with dignity and respect.
• Follow church policies, safety procedures, and standards for proper care of the columbarium.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in engraving, stonework, memorial work, or a related field is preferred.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic mechanical or equipment-handling skills.
• Ability to follow written specifications and work independently.
• Patient, respectful, and dependable.
• Willingness to work in an environment involving memorial and funeral services.
