What they need

Permanent Position Hybrid from our Wimbledon Office Are you ready to help shape the future technology landscape across our European markets?

Domestic & General is scaling fast across 12 countries, protecting the appliances that keep households running and reducing waste by extending the life of everyday devices. With an inclusive, people‑first culture recognised by Great Place to Work and the Inclusive Employers Standard, we’re now looking for a Enterprise Architect to define architectural strategy, guide investment decisions and drive the long-term transition towards a more unified global technology environment.

About The Role This is a rare opportunity to shape technology strategy across Domestic & General's Growth Markets business, spanning multiple European countries, stakeholders and technology platforms.

Working closely with senior business, product and engineering leaders, you'll define architectural direction, influence key investment decisions and help drive the transition towards a more unified global technology landscape.

This is a highly autonomous role for someone who enjoys solving complex challenges, operating across diverse markets and balancing long-term strategy with practical delivery. You'll have the opportunity to influence senior decision-makers, shape technology outcomes at scale and leave a lasting impact on a growing international business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve technology and architecture roadmaps across multiple European markets
  • Drive modernisation, simplification and platform convergence initiatives
  • Provide architectural leadership for major business and technology investments
  • Influence senior stakeholders across technology, product and business functions
  • Ensure solutions meet security, regulatory and operational resilience requirements
  • Identify opportunities to improve platforms, capabilities and ways of working

About You You're an experienced Architect who combines strategic thinking with a pragmatic, delivery-focused approach. You will have led technology transformation in complex environments and know how to balance technical best practice with business priorities. You're comfortable working independently, influencing senior stakeholders and navigating competing demands across multiple teams and markets.

Equally important, you stay close enough to the technology to challenge assumptions, validate ideas and help teams make better decisions.

You'll bring

  • Experience delivering large-scale architecture or technology transformation
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Experience working in regulated industries such as financial services, insurance or similar environments
  • Knowledge of operational resilience and regulatory frameworks such as DORA
  • The ability to develop clear target-state architectures, roadmaps and technology standards
  • Strong commercial judgement and a pragmatic approach to decision-making
  • Sufficient technical depth to assess solutions and guide engineering teams effectively

We offer lots of great benefits! Some of which include:

  • Competitive salary and annual discretionary bonus
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank/public holidays, as well as an annual option to buy up to 5 additional days of annual leave
  • Life assurance – employer funded cover of 4x basic salary
  • Health cash plan – employer funded cover to enable you to claim money back on essential healthcare costs, including dental, optical, physiotherapy and many more. Cover also includes unlimited access to a 24/7 virtual GP service
  • Attractive company pension scheme
  • Car Leasing – access to a carbon neutral salary sacrifice car leasing scheme, with an all-inclusive monthly cost covering all charge, taxes, insurance, repairs and maintenance on a range of brand-new vehicles
  • Cycle to Work – tax efficient bike and cycling equipment worth up to £1,000
  • Employee Assistance Programme – specialist advice and support on issues such as finance, relationships, illness and family issues
  • Free Domestic & General protection plan – one free plan each year with access to discounted rates of up to 50% on additional plans, including referrals for family and friends

Domestic & General are an equal opportunities employer which means we treat people fairly. We welcome applications from all suitably skilled persons regardless of their gender, age, race, disability, ethnic background, religion/belief, sexual orientation, gender reassignment or marital/family status. Please note that we have a thorough referencing process, which includes criminal record, credit and reference checks. At Domestic & General, we are proud of our 100-year legacy and excited about our future growth plans. We are expanding our horizons, entering new markets and territories internationally and we need your expertise to help us on the journey.
