As Enterprise Architect, you'll play a key role in shaping how technology, information, automation and operational systems work together to support one of New Zealand's most complex and dynamic operating environments.

This is a highly influential role where you'll work across the business to develop technology strategy, guide investment decisions, and design practical solutions that support both today's operational needs and tomorrow's opportunities. From port operations and automation through to digital platforms, data and cyber security, you'll help ensure our technology landscape remains resilient, secure, scalable and fit for the future.

About the Role

This role sits at the intersection of business strategy, operational excellence and technology delivery.

Alongside the Digital Service leadership team you will work closely with operational leaders, business stakeholders and the wider Digital Services teams to maintain a clear enterprise-wide view of our business capabilities, applications, infrastructure, data, cyber security and operational technology environments. You'll develop architecture roadmaps, guide solution design, lead architecture governance, and ensure investment decisions align with our long-term direction.

Success in this role requires strong strategic thinking, systems thinking, relationship-building skills, commercial judgement, and the ability to balance immediate business needs with long-term enterprise goals.

What You'll Bring

We're interested in hearing from experienced architecture professionals who can operate confidently across both strategic planning and hands-on solution design.

Ideally you'll bring:

• Significant experience in logistics, ports and with operating technology.
• Significant experience in enterprise and solution architecture within complex environments.
• Experience developing target-state architectures, transition roadmaps and technology strategies.
• Strong understanding of applications, integration, infrastructure, cyber security, data and operational technology environments.
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders and translating business needs into practical technology outcomes.
• The ability to balance innovation, operational requirements, risk and commercial considerations.
• Experience working within ports, logistics, transport, manufacturing, utilities or other 24/7 operational environments would be highly regarded.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Architecture certifications such as TOGAF and related industry qualifications are advantageous.
