Job Description

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Vice President, Enterprise Modeling and Analytics will lead Fannie Mae’s enterprise modeling and advanced analytics functions, setting the strategic vision and operating model required to position the company as an innovative, data-driven organization. The SVP will oversee the development, implementation, monitoring, and lifecycle management of enterprise modeling applications that support risk measurement, financial valuation, forecasting, stress testing, business performance, and strategic decision-making.

The SVP will also be responsible for building and scaling Fannie Mae’s enterprise predictive analytics capabilities, including the responsible deployment of data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning tools. Working closely with Technology and Data leadership, the SVP will help modernize the architecture, platforms, and operating capabilities required to move analytical solutions from experimentation into controlled production at scale, while establishing reusable methods, services, and capabilities that can be leveraged across the enterprise.

A critical component of the role will be ensuring that innovation is supported by strong governance and disciplined execution. The SVP will provide first-line executive accountability for model governance and partner broadly across business, technology, risk, finance, legal, compliance, information security, internal audit, and independent model risk management to enable innovation while maintaining safety, soundness, transparency, regulatory readiness, and accountability. The leader will also help shape enterprise investment and capability priorities by establishing measurable business-value, risk-reduction, productivity, decision-quality, adoption, and mission-impact metrics for major modeling and analytics initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the independent development, production implementation, monitoring, and lifecycle management of enterprise modeling applications to support risk measurement, financial valuation, forecasting, stress testing, business performance, and strategic decision-making.

  • Build out enterprise predictive analytics center of excellence capabilities to enhance model delivery, establish reusable methods and services, and accelerate integration of trusted data and models into enterprise- and business-level use cases and workflows.

  • Enable the consistent and responsible deployment of innovative predictive tools and reusable capabilities across data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning techniques, with disciplined processes for experimentation, industrialization, deployment, and monitoring.

  • Identify, interpret, and apply industry, regulatory, technology, and analytical trends, sharing insights in a compelling manner to enable business decisions and inform enterprise investment, governance, and capability roadmaps.

  • Be a thought leader on emerging digital and analytics innovation opportunities and develop enterprise-wide vision, operating model, and supporting strategy for modeling and advanced analytics.

  • Recruit, retain, develop, and grow required talent across quantitative modeling, technology, data science, analytics, governance, product management, and commercial-minded business expertise; build succession pipelines for critical leadership and specialist roles.

  • Provide first-line executive accountability for model governance, including standards for model identification, risk classification, development, validation readiness, implementation, use, change management, monitoring, documentation, issue management, and retirement.

  • Partner with Technology and Data leadership to define and modernize the architecture, platforms, and operating capabilities required for scalable model development and analytics, including cloud, compute, model deployment, monitoring, observability, lineage, and reusable analytical services.

  • Establish measurable business-value, risk-reduction, productivity, decision-quality, adoption, and mission-impact metrics for major modeling and analytics investments; rationalize overlapping capabilities and redirect investment toward scalable, reusable solutions.

  • Partners across business, technology, risk, finance, legal, compliance, information security, internal audit, and independent model risk management to enable innovation while maintaining safety, soundness, transparency, and accountability.

  • Represent Fannie Mae, as appropriate, with industry groups, academic institutions, technology providers, regulators, and other external stakeholders on modeling, analytics, and emerging technology topics.

  • Proven ability to establish enterprise vision, operating models, investment priorities, and multi-year plans across modeling, analytics, data, governance, and technology.
