Context

For a leading independent gas infrastructure group with 1,200 employees active in gas transmission & storage and liquefied natural gas terminalling, cybersecurity is a key topic. Linked with recent worldwide changes, there are many initiatives to cope with growing threats. To ensure that the measures serve their purpose while keeping in mind the user experience, the company needs an Enterprise Security Architect to translate high-level security measures into practical implementations and guidelines.

Building on the unique assets of gas infrastructure and its commercial and technical expertise, it is committed to accommodating hydrogen, biomethane, or any other carbon-neutral energy carrier of the future.

Missions

  • Define and govern the overarching security architecture.
  • Ensure that security capabilities, standards, and technologies form a coherent and future-proof security posture across the entire IT landscape—covering applications, infrastructure, cloud, data, and identity.
  • Collaborate closely with the ICT Security Office, enterprise architects, domain architects, and technical architects to translate business and regulatory requirements into strategic security solutions and long-term roadmaps.
  • Develop, maintain, and evolve the Security Architecture.
  • Define and maintain security reference architectures, principles, and blueprints in line with other architectural strategies, such as Data or Cloud strategy.
  • Ensure secure-by-design principles are considered within new developments.
  • Promote the use of Zero Trust principles.
  • Document and communicate security architecture standards, helping teams adopt coherent security principles.
  • Shape the long-term security capability and technology roadmap.
  • Align security practices with regulatory frameworks such as NIS2, ISO 27001, GDPR.
  • Provide guidance for audit and compliance activities.
  • Review existing architecture and propose improvements to further mature IT resilience.
  • Evaluate and select enterprise-level security platforms (IAM, PAM, SIEM/SOAR, CSPM, EDR, WAF, DLP, etc.).
  • Help define and follow up PoCs and pilot programs for emerging security technologies.
  • Work closely with other architects to align all aspects of architecture.

Profile wanted


  1. A master's degree (civil engineering, commercial engineering or any scientific orientation)
  2. 5+ years of experience in security architecture
  3. Broad expertise across multiple security domains: Cloud security (Azure), IAM/PAM, Network and infrastructure security, Application & API Security, Container security, Data protection and encryption, Security monitoring (SIEM, SOAR)
  4. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders
  5. Experience defining secure architectures for hybrid and multi-cloud environments
  6. Understanding of regulatory frameworks (NIS2, ISO 27001, GDPR)
  7. Certifications such as TOGAF, SABSA, CISSP, CISM, CCSP, ITIL, AWS/Azure or Enterprise Architecture frameworks are strong assets
  8. Familiarity with the utility/energy sector is a plus (e.g., asset management, metering, field operations)
  9. Exposure to enterprise architecture tools (e.g. Sparx Enterprise Architect)
  10. Experiences in IT/OT environments
  11. Multilingual capabilities (FR/NL/EN) for crossfunctional collaboration
