What they need

Position Information

Kentish and Latrobe Councils are seeking an experienced Enterprise Systems Administrator to support and improve the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and other corporate business systems used across both Councils. This is an opportunity to apply your technical expertise to systems that support a wide range of Council services and operations.

You’ll be responsible for day-to-day system administration, configuration, user access, troubleshooting, system updates, testing and integrations. Working closely with managers, system owners, employees and external providers, you’ll provide practical advice, coordinate system improvements and help ensure systems remain reliable, secure and fit for purpose.

A key part of the role will be identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, improve data quality and make better use of existing technology. You’ll also research and evaluate contemporary technologies, including automation and artificial intelligence, and support the responsible implementation of approved solutions. Providing user training, developing clear documentation and building organisational capability will be important aspects of the role.

The successful applicant will have a relevant tertiary qualification in information technology, computer science, business systems or a related discipline, or substantial equivalent professional experience in enterprise business systems administration. You’ll bring demonstrated experience administering complex corporate systems, coordinating system changes, managing user access and resolving technical issues. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and organisational skills are essential, along with an understanding of cyber security, privacy, information management and risk management.

About Us

The Latrobe and Kentish Councils are located adjacent to each other in the North-West of Tasmania and cover an area from the coastal beaches of Port Sorell to the highland regions of Mount Roland and Cradle Mountain.

Latrobe and Kentish Councils value collaboration and partnerships both within and outside their municipalities. As part of their business model, the Councils have entered into a resource-sharing arrangement. This allows both Councils to deliver services and outcomes for their respective communities to gain benefits that may have been otherwise unattainable.

Since the inception of the resource sharing arrangements in 2010, the number of resources shared has steadily grown and the two Councils now operate as one organisation with each Council retaining their respective elected representatives.

Why Work with Us?

At Kentish and Latrobe Councils, we pride ourselves on fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace culture. Here are some of the benefits you’ll enjoy:

  • Flexible Working Arrangements: Achieve work-life balance with options tailored to your needs, including a 19-day month with rostered days off arrangement.
  • Generous Superannuation: Up to 16% (including 12% SGC compulsory and an additional 50% of any extra super an Employee contributes up to a maximum of 4% of the Employee’s annual gross salary).
  • Health & Wellbeing: Reimbursements up to $150 per calendar year for the cost of eligible health checks.
  • Career Growth: Be part of two dynamic Councils that invest in their team’s professional development and offer varied experiences across regions.
