Entry Level Accountant

We are looking for an Entry Level Accountant to join a growing finance team in Versailles, Kentucky. This position plays an important role in keeping financial data accurate, supporting daily accounting activity, and helping the organization meet reporting and tax obligations. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, a careful approach to detail, and the ability to handle multiple accounting tasks with consistency and professionalism.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee routine accounting activities by updating financial records and ensuring ledger balances remain accurate and complete.

• Manage invoice processing and payment workflows while providing assistance with incoming receivables when needed.

• Reconcile bank accounts and credit card transactions to identify discrepancies and maintain reliable financial data.

• Contribute to month-end accounting procedures by supporting close activities, financial summaries, and related reporting tasks.

• Prepare and record journal entries in alignment with established accounting practices and documentation standards.

• Support sales and use tax compliance by compiling records, reviewing supporting details, and assisting with required filings.

• Maintain organized accounting documentation that supports audit readiness, tax reporting, and day-to-day recordkeeping.

• Provide backup assistance for payroll-related tasks and help with additional accounting or administrative duties as priorities shift.

• Use Excel to organize, track, and analyze financial information for reporting and operational support.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting

• At least 3 years of experience in an accounting roles.

• Practical experience handling sales and use tax processes is required.

• Working knowledge of general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, reconciliations, and journal entry preparation.

• Experience using accounting software, with QuickBooks or Sage considered a plus.

• Strong Excel capabilities, including formulas, data management, and report preparation.

• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to keep records accurate and well organized.

• Ability to work independently, manage competing deadlines, and stay productive across multiple priorities.
