Company Overview
Abraham Land Surveying is a leading firm in land surveying, LiDAR and UAV technology. We deliver innovative, high-quality solutions for residential, commercial, and site development projects.

We’re looking for a motivated, tech-savvy person ready to enter the professional world who wants to learn CAD and build a career in a hands-on, collaborative environment.

Job Summary
This is an entry-level opportunity designed for someone just getting started who is eager to learn CAD software and contribute to real surveying and engineering projects. If you’re comfortable with technology, detail-oriented, and excited to master tools like AutoCAD Civil 3D, Carlson Survey, or similar software, this role is a great starting point. If you have the basics of CAD even better!

Responsibilities

  • Learn and apply CAD software (primarily AutoCAD Civil 3D and Carlson Survey) to prepare drawings, plans, and maps under guidance.
  • Assist with processing survey data and creating basic topographic, boundary, and construction-related plans.
  • Collaborate with surveyors and engineers while learning accurate design and drafting practices.
  • Property record research and documentation.
  • Help perform quality checks on drawings to meet project standards.
  • Support the creation of simple 3D models for existing conditions as you build skills.
  • Organize CAD files and project documentation.
  • Assist field crews with data collection and preparation, also assist with field-to-finish workflows as you gain experience.

Ideal Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework, technical certification, or self-taught tech skills are a plus but not required.
  • Have to be able to show up on time. Be reliable.
  • Strong interest in learning CAD and civil engineering / land surveying work.
  • Tech-savvy with a demonstrated ability to quickly pick up new software and tools.
  • Must be local—this is an in-office position (not remote).
  • Excellent attention to detail, willingness to learn, and problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced familiarity with computers, file management is highly recommended, and any drafting, design, or mapping software is helpful but not mandatory.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills

  • Any exposure to AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Carlson, Trimble, or similar programs (even from school projects or personal use).
  • Interest in coordinate systems, maps, or outdoor/field work related to surveying.
  • Strong communication skills and eagerness to ask questions and grow.

Benefits

  • Competitive entry-level pay with room to grow based on performance and skill development.
  • Health insurance.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Paid time off and holidays.
  • Extensive on-the-job training, mentoring, and professional development opportunities focused on CAD and surveying software.

If you’re a young professional just starting out, tech-comfortable person ready to learn CAD from the ground up and contribute to real-world projects, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today and start building valuable skills in a supportive team!
