Entry Level Construction Estimator

About the role

We are looking for an Entry Level Construction Estimator to help prepare bids for commercial construction projects. You will work with experienced team members to review drawings and specifications, complete quantity takeoffs, gather pricing, and assemble accurate proposals.

This role offers hands-on training and room to take on more responsibility as you develop your estimating skills. It is a good fit for someone who is detail-oriented, curious about how projects are built, and comfortable asking questions when a scope or drawing needs clarification.

Key responsibilities

· Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to understand project requirements.

· Prepare quantity takeoffs and help develop estimates for specialty construction scopes, primarily within CSI Divisions 3, 5, 7, and 9.

· Identify missing information, scope gaps, and questions that need to be resolved before a bid is submitted.

· Request and organize pricing from suppliers and trade partners.

· Compare quotes, document assumptions, and help the estimating team evaluate costs.

· Maintain organized takeoff files, bid records, and supporting documentation.

· Assist with bid packages, preliminary budgets, and final proposal submissions.

· Work with senior estimators and operations staff to understand how estimated work will be performed in the field.

Qualifications

· At least one year of construction experience, including internships or hands-on work. Estimating or preconstruction experience is helpful but not required.

· Basic ability to read construction plans and understand how drawings relate to work in the field.

· Strong attention to detail and confidence working with quantities, measurements, and spreadsheets.

· Proficiency in Excel and willingness to learn estimating and plan review software.

· Clear communication skills and the ability to follow up on questions and deadlines.

· An interest in commercial construction and a willingness to learn specialty trade scopes.

An associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, building science, or a related field is welcome. Relevant hands-on experience will also be considered. Familiarity with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff, or the Arizona construction market is a plus.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
