FleetPride is looking for a Diesel Technician I to join our growing service team in Fort Wayne, IN.

This is more than a traditional technician opportunity. We are looking for a skilled mechanic or technician who understands heavy-duty truck and trailer repair and knows how to build relationships with customers and fleets.

If you have a strong mechanical background, enjoy working directly with customers, and have established relationships or a book of business that you can bring to a service department, we want to talk to you!

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, air, brake, suspension, steering, and other truck/trailer systems
• Perform repairs and component replacements with limited supervision
• Identify additional repair and maintenance needs and communicate recommendations to customers
• Build and maintain strong relationships with fleet customers and owner-operators
• Help identify opportunities to bring additional service business into the shop
• Communicate effectively with customers, technicians, and service leadership
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow all company and federal safety and service standards

WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Heavy-duty diesel/truck or trailer repair experience
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently while being part of a team
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Professional, dependable, and motivated attitude
• Ability to build and maintain customer relationships
• Existing relationships with fleets, owner-operators, or other commercial customers is a strong plus
• A proven book of business or ability to generate service opportunities is highly valued
• Own hand tools and air tools
• Valid driver's license
• CDL is a plus, but not required
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
