Entry Level Front End Developer

Description: Chumney & Associates is seeking an entry-level Front End Developer to join their team in Greenville, SC.

Position Summary: The Front End Developer develops rich, interactive user experiences across desktop and mobile platforms. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the latest in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and PHP is a plus. They must enjoy working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, and will be driven to help push web development initiatives.

Position responsibilities:

• Take an active role in the development projects, both large and small, throughout the various phases of the project life cycle. Assess new initiatives to determine the work effort and estimate the necessary time-to-completion.
• Lead and mentor other team members to develop shared best practices and development standards.
• Maintain existing sites and functionality once they are assimilated into the ongoing operations of the Web business.
• An interest in sharing knowledge about new technologies with the team and facilitating the implementation of such technologies across projects.
• Development with cross-browser/cross-device compatibility in a graded browser support environment.
• Document new development, procedures or test plans as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Essential skills, knowledge and abilities:

• Expertise writing semantic HTML5/HTML and CSS3/CSS.
• Expertise with responsive css techniques and best practices.
• Knowledge of current trends and best practices in front-end architecture, including performance, accessibility and usability.
• Solid problem solving, technical troubleshooting, and decision-making skills, as well as excellent communication, initiative and teamwork.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Has a good eye for design and layout.
