【Position Overview】

The Cloud Platform Supervisory Department (CPSD) develops and manages Rakuten’s state-of-the-art cloud platform, empowering global scalability and accelerating innovation across its diverse business units.

As an Infra Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and operating a private cloud that supports the growth of the Rakuten Group. Collaborating with a multinational team based in Japan and India, you will ensure the 24/7 operation of the infrastructure supporting the Rakuten Ecosystem. This role involves creating efficient systems, leveraging the latest technologies, and delivering higher-value services. It is an ideal environment for those who enjoy challenges and aim for growth.

【Position Details】

You will be assigned to either one of these positions:

＜Information Systems Engineer＞

・ Responsible for maintenance and operation of the infrastructure platforms and networks supporting the various services provided by Rakuten Group

・ Core Systems (Virtualization, Windows, Linux, Cloud-based systems)

・ Standardization and automation to improve productivity

・ New system design and enhancement

・ Service operation troubleshooting

＜Reliability Engineer＞

・ Improvement of service performance and latency

・ Standardization and automation to reduce toil in service management

・ Providing standard monitoring systems for stable operation of services

・ Providing standard design for easily expanding new services

・ Service operation troubleshooting

【Language Proficiency】

Japanese: Conversational Level

English: Business Level

【Coding Test】

Required

【Mandatory Requirements】

・ Experience in Unix/Linux operations

・ 1+ years of programming experience in one or more of the following languages: Go, Python, Java, PHP, Ruby, or Shell Script

・ Understanding of information technology and cloud-based systems

・ Experience in scripting and automation

・ Experience of DevOps with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI)

・ Experience in monitoring and troubleshooting

・ Experience in automation and configuration management using Chef, Ansible, Terraform

【Desired Requirements】

・ Experience in Kubernetes, Database, and Network

・ Experience using Public Cloud

・ Experience with network devices

・ Experience in backend application development

・ Experience with SQL, etc.

・ Knowledge about system security
