Entry-Level Purchasing Trainee

Position Summary

In this role, you will work closely with our Manufacturing Facility Leads to gain hands-on experience in the different departments involved in pipe fabrication. Additionally, you will rotate through fieldwork with our Journeymen to learn piping installation processes. This hands-on training is essential before supporting our high-profile mechanical construction projects.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, resourceful, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred)
• Strong organizational and negotiation skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

General Responsibilities

• Support purchasing activities for mechanical construction projects
• Obtain and evaluate vendor quotes and pricing
• Procure materials, equipment, and supplies
• Track orders to ensure timely delivery
• Maintain vendor relationships and performance records
• Resolve discrepancies with orders, invoices, and deliveries
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with forecasting material needs
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation
• Gain hands-on exposure to field operations to better understand project material requirements
