Entry Level Shipping Specialist & Handler - Full Time

SUMMARY:

The Shipping Specialist & Handler works closely with the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor to ensure efficient operation of the Shipping Department. The ideal candidate would be responsible for shipping out orders to customers and maintaining accurate records. We will train the right individual.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Works with other departments to ensure customer and carrier guidelines and timeframes are met.

· Schedules shipments with carriers both verbally and electronically using customer software tools. Discusses and resolves specific issues with carriers.

· Ensures all customer requirements are present on paperwork including packing lists and for sending Advanced Shipping Notices (ASNs).

· Records and reports shortages and discrepancies.

· Ensures friendly, efficient and professional customer service.

· Reports issues to Shipping & Receiving Supervisor as soon as they become a concern.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A qualified candidate would have a basic understanding of the machines and of the working properties of the various materials used in the manufacturing of Kastalon products.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

· High school diploma or GED

· Ability to read tape measure

· Experience operating forklifts

· Experience using overhead crane (we will train)

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to follow oral instructions and read & interpret written documents such as Safety Data Sheets(SDSs), safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, part prints, process documentation, and work center guidelines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

· Work 40-55 hours per week

· Stand for long periods of time

· Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

· Wear steel toe boots (ASTM Standard)

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment described here is representative of what an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of his job. When performing the duties of this job (while always adhering to Kastalon safety standards), an employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, is occasionally exposed to fumes, dust or airborne particles, and the average noise level in the shop is loud. The temperatures in this work environment can range from very hot to very cold.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
