Entry-Level Staff Accountant

Key Responsibilities

• Accounts payable duties: process vendor invoices, reconcile statements, prepare and execute payments, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate accounts payable records while ensuring compliance with company policies and payment terms.
• Accounts receivable duties: generate and distribute customer invoices, post payments, monitor outstanding balances, follow up on past-due accounts, reconcile receivable accounts, and assist in maintaining healthy cash flow through timely collections.
• Maintain accurate financial records by recording daily transactions, reconciling bank and credit card accounts, preparing journal entries, maintaining the general ledger, and supporting month-end and year-end close.
• Oversee business and new vendor setup and communicate requirements.
• Respond timely and accurately to general business emails, vendor emails, and phone calls.
• Assist with special projects and custom reports as needed.
• Flexibility in cross-training and learning new responsibilities and systems as needed.
• All other duties as assigned or required based on business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
• 1-2 years of accounting experience required.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Advanced technical skills with MS Office, Excel, and ability to learn new systems.
• Deltek Ajera accounting software experience preferred; willingness to learn is required.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and willingness to learn and grow with the organization.
• Ability to maintain priorities and an organized workflow in a growing, evolving work environment with concurrent tasks and projects.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
