【Position Overview】

Rakuten Payment, Inc. develops business with a focus on payment services and marketing solutions. Our services are available at approximately 5 million online and offline locations, as well as approximately 1 million locations accepting transportation-related e-money. The Product Development Division handles everything from system service planning to UI/UX planning, implementation, and operation.

【Position Details】

＜Application Engineer＞

This position is responsible for the design, requirement definition, environment design, implementation, testing, and service launch of systems for Rakuten Pay, Rakuten Cash, and Rakuten Edy. Depending on the assignment, you will handle service development and operations across Rakuten Group’s FinTech services.

・Design, develop, test, and operate web-based systems (front-end and back-end) and batch applications.

・Construct and operate service monitoring and management automation.

・Build demo systems for concept validation.

・Plan and review various services, and provide support.

・Propose and implement improvements for assigned services.

＜Software QA Engineer＞

This position is responsible for quality assurance across services, utilizing programming for quality verification.

・Conduct load testing for Web APIs (REST, SOAP).

・Perform functional testing for mobile applications.

・Monitor applications and perform troubleshooting.

・Analyze performance metrics (CPU usage, memory usage, network usage, etc.).

・Create performance graphs, session reports, and related documentation.

＜UI/UX Engineer＞

Focusing on front-end UI development, this role involves screen design and development using a wide range of technologies, including backend API integration, seamless login, and hardware interaction via native APIs. We emphasize brand guidelines to improve design consistency and development efficiency while incorporating the latest technologies.

【Mandatory Requirements】

・Computer science or related background.

・Experience in development using one of the following: Java, PHP, Python, Golang, Scala, or Kotlin.

・Experience in front-end development using TypeScript (React, Svelte, Next.js, etc.).

・Experience in Linux environments.

・Understanding of database schemas and normalization.

・Understanding of system performance (load, memory, response time).

【Desired Requirements】

・Experience utilizing AI tools for development and testing workflows.

・Experience with Git, Shell Script, and SQL.

・Experience with Apache and Tomcat.

・Experience with Struts and Spring Framework.

・Understanding of CI/CD.

・Experience with web UI development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).

・Knowledge of latest technologies (Public Cloud, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
