Job Challenges :

• Maintaining continuous compliance with stringent CPCB, GPCB, and Environmental Clearance requirements across multiple operating units.
• Achieving high data availability targets (>98% for CEMS and >90% for CAAQMS) through reliable operation and calibration of online monitoring systems.
• Controlling particulate matter and fugitive emissions from coal handling, fly ash hoppers, bottom ash handling, and storage areas.
• Ensuring consistent performance and preventive maintece of pollution control equipment such as ESPs, bag filters, sprinklers, and other APCMs.
• Managing varying fuel quality and sulphur content while maintaining emission levels within statutory limits.
• Identifying and mitigating environmental risks arising from process deviations, equipment failures, leakages, spillages, and abnormal operating conditions.
• Ensuring effective water conservation through monitoring, metering, leak detection, and optimization of water consumption across facilities.
• Coordinating with multiple departments for timely corrective actions, maintece shutdowns, calibration activities, and compliance reporting.
• Managing fly ash and hazardous waste disposal in compliance with regulatory requirements while preventing secondary environmental impacts.
• Ensuring accurate and timely submission of environmental monitoring reports, audit findings, and compliance data to regulatory authorities.
• Driving environmental awareness, safe work practices, BBSO reporting, and work permit compliance among employees and contractors.
• Maintaining readiness for internal audits, external inspections, and regulatory assessments with complete documentation and records.

Environmental Aspects Monitoring

1. Assess day-to-day environmental aspects at CPP-1, 2, 3, Oxygen Plant, Workshop, ETP, and WTP
2. Identify significant environmental aspects
3. Prepare WI, SOP, and EIP for significant aspects
4. Monitor process operations & environmental impact

Air Emissions & Stack Compliance

1. Ensure operation of pollution control devices as per OEM
2. Maintain ESP mA, kV, and rapping systems as per OEM
3. Ensure emission stack monitoring (online/offline) per CPCB
4. Ensure limestone dosing as per sulfur content
5. Ensure OCEMS data is continuously transferred to CPCB
6. Maintain OCEMS calibration & operation with Automation Team
7. Achieve air emission compliance as per GPCB
8. Ensure timely submission of environmental compliance reports
9. Prevent fugitive emissions from coal, fly ash, and bottom ash areas
10. Monitor performance of bag filters, ESPs, sprinklers
11. Monitor performance of bag filters, ESPs, sprinklers
12. Maintain >98% data availability for CEMS
13. Maintain >90% data availability for CAAQMS
14. Ensure proactive maintece of APCM with Vertical Heads

Water & Wastewater Management

1. Monitor water consumption sources and quantities
2. Ensure metering at all critical consumption/generation points
3. Identify leakage/seepage and take corrective actions
4. Ensure proper collection of blowdown water to Green Tank
5. co- ordinate to treat coal yard runoff as per proposal
6. Audit flow meter maintece, keep monthly records
7. Ensure effective coal catcher utilization
8. Ensure ash (fly/bottom) disposal as per CPCB
9. Monitor tele chute at CPP-3 fly ash hopper

Waste & Hazardous Waste (HW) Management

1. Prevent fugitive emissions from fly ash hoppers
2. Ensure disposal of HW as per guidelines
3. Prepare pollution control devices performance checklist

Statutory & Regulatory Compliance

1. Audit all pollution control devices per checklist
2. Conducting the Fly Ash Audit

Safety

1. BBSO Reporting
