Environment Engineer

About the role

Manage and optimize the factory's pollution control systems and ensure full compliance with the Environmental Quality Act 1974 and all subsidiary regulations. Act as the primary point of contact for DOE officers during site audits, inspections, or regulatory updates.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the factory fully complies with the Environmental Quality Act 1974 and all subsidiary regulations to avoid fines or stop-work orders
• Manage, operate, and optimize the factory's pollution control systems (e.g., IETS, Scrubber, And Scheduled Waste Store)
• Conduct daily guided self-regulation (GSR) inspections, check operational parameters, and ensure discharge/emission levels meet DOE limits
• Maintain up-to-date logs, compile performance monitoring data, and submit mandatory reports via official portals like e-SWIS or JASOnline
• Act as the primary point of contact for DOE officers during site audits, inspections, or regulatory updates
• Troubleshoot system upsets, spearhead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and report environmental incidents immediately
• Process lab test for production chemical expectations
• Advise management on budget planning for environmental upgrades, waste minimization, and cost-saving strategies

About you

• Must possess a valid, active competency certificate from DOE / EiMAS (CePIETSO)
• Responsible for maintaining certification by accumulating the required CPD hours annually
• Willing to be on the factory floor to troubleshoot technical issues, not just handling paperwork in the office
• Capable of advising management on budget planning for environmental upgrades, waste minimization, and cost-saving strategies
• Maintain strict data integrity in all environmental reporting and logbooks
