Environmental Engineer

About the role

Our client is a leading international manufacturing company looking for an experienced Environmental Engineer to join their HR & Safety function. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing environmental compliance, pollution control, safety activities, hazardous substances, waste management, and sustainability-related operations. This position will work closely with government authorities, industrial estate management, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure full compliance with applicable environmental and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain, renew, and maintain environmental licenses and permits covering water, air emissions, gas, and LPG.
• Manage environmental permits, registrations, and regulatory requirements with relevant government authorities.
• Ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations, including required reports to government authorities and industrial estate management.
• Coordinate environmental matters and maintain good communication with surrounding communities and neighboring facilities.
• Manage boiler and utility-related environmental requirements, including government reporting.
• Oversee chemical and hazardous substance management in accordance with legal and company requirements.
• Manage industrial, hazardous, and general waste, including waste transportation, permits, documentation, and regulatory reporting.
• Monitor and maintain fire alarm systems and firefighting equipment, including preventive maintenance and audits.
• Conduct regular SHE patrols, inspections, and toolbox talks.
• Investigate environmental and safety incidents, identify root causes, and support corrective and preventive actions.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental management within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of Thai environmental laws, regulations, and pollution control requirements.
• Experience in environmental permits, waste management, chemical management, and government reporting.
• Knowledge or certification in Chemical Management, Pollution Management, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 is preferred.
• Good command of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Good communication and public speaking skills.
• Able to coordinate effectively with government authorities, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Valid driving license and ability to drive a car.
• Physically fit and comfortable working in a manufacturing/site environment.
