Environmental Equipment Technician

Pine Environmental Services | Cleveland, OH | Full Time

Pine Environmental Services is looking for a hands-on Environmental Equipment Technician to join our Cleveland team. In this role, you'll inspect, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, clean, and prepare a wide variety of environmental testing and monitoring equipment used by our customers.

If you enjoy fixing things, working with mechanical and electrical equipment, solving problems, and learning how specialized equipment works, this could be a great opportunity to build your technical skills in a specialized industry.

Benefits

Pine Environmental Services offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • 3 weeks of PTO to start
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 8 paid company holidays
  • Additional voluntary benefits
  • Professional development opportunities

What You'll Do

  • Test, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain environmental testing and monitoring equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Inspect equipment returned from customers and identify repairs, missing components, or maintenance needs.
  • Prepare equipment for rental, including accessories, calibration documentation, manufacturer instructions, and required paperwork.
  • Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting support to customers by phone and, when needed, in person.
  • Perform electrical safety inspections and maintain accurate equipment and inventory records.
  • Identify and request parts, accessories, and other items needed to keep equipment rental-ready.
  • Maintain equipment labeling, asset status, calibration information, and service records.
  • Assist with maintaining technical documentation, software resources, and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) records.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to support customers and keep equipment moving efficiently.
  • Participate in occasional after-hours, weekend, or holiday emergency support when necessary.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, dependable, and enjoys troubleshooting problems.

You should have:

  • High school diploma/GED, technical training, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and an interest in learning how equipment works.
  • Good problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • The ability to read and follow technical instructions, procedures, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Strong verbal, written, and customer-service communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently while also contributing to a team.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to safely use required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Experience with environmental equipment is helpful but not necessarily required. Experience with mechanical, electrical, electronic, HVAC, industrial, laboratory, instrumentation, or other technical equipment is also valuable.

The Work Environment

This is a hands-on position with approximately 90% active work. You'll spend your time working with equipment in our facility and occasionally at customer locations.

The job may involve:

  • Standing, walking, bending, stretching, and climbing ladders.
  • Working in outdoor, dusty, damp, or seasonal conditions at customer locations.
  • Lifting equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance when appropriate.
  • Driving a company vehicle when required.
  • Occasional work outside normal business hours for emergency customer needs.

This is a safety-sensitive position.

Why Join Pine?

You'll develop specialized technical skills while working with equipment that supports environmental testing, monitoring, and compliance. This is an opportunity for someone with strong mechanical aptitude to build expertise in a specialized field and become a valuable technical resource for our customers and team.
