About the role

This role involves ensuring that the company's engineering operations and projects comply with environmental regulations and national and local pollution emission standards. You will establish, operate, and maintain environmental management systems (such as ISO 14001) and continuously improve environmental regulations. You will coordinate environmental impact assessment (EIA) procedures and related approval processes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular environmental audits and compliance assessments at work sites to identify potential environmental hazards
• Monitor treatment and emissions of exhaust gases, wastewater, noise, solid waste, and hazardous waste
• Collect and analyse environmental data and maintain various environmental inspection reports appropriately
• Report to government agencies or management as required
• Develop and implement pollution prevention and control plans and emergency response plans
• Respond to sudden environmental pollution incidents, conduct root cause investigations, and propose corrective and preventive measures
• Train employees on environmental awareness, work procedures, and emergency response
• Communicate and coordinate with local environmental protection agencies, consulting firms, communities, contractors, and internal and external stakeholders
• Develop and implement ISO 14001 system-related work independently

About you

• Bachelor's degree (4 years) in Engineering: Environmental Engineering, Sanitary Engineering; or Science: Environmental Science, Environmental Technology, Environmental Health, Biology, or Chemistry; or Management and Resources
• Experience with ISO 14001 system implementation
• Experience in manufacturing industrial companies and companies located in various industrial estates
• Able to work Monday to Friday and alternate Saturdays
• Knowledge and capability related to environmental work in industrial estate companies for more than 3 years
• Certificate of registration as a water pollution controller
