Environmental or Civil Engineer

Seeking an experienced Civil Engineer with a strong background in the solid waste industry, site design, and land development. The ideal candidate will have advanced AutoCAD Civil 3D skills and 2-3+ years of hands-on experience supporting civil site design projects, including commercial developments, shopping centers, landfills, and landfill expansion/closure projects.

This role offers the opportunity to manage critical infrastructure projects from design through construction while partnering directly with clients and project teams.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field
• 2-3+ years of civil site design experience
• Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Experience supporting landfill, land development, or site design projects
• Strong project coordination and client-facing communication skills

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed engineering drawings and designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Lead civil site design efforts for landfill expansions, closures, and land development projects
• Coordinate permitting activities, subcontractors, and regulatory approvals
• Build and maintain strong client relationships
• Assist with project management, scheduling, and resource planning
• Perform technical analyses including:
• Cut/fill calculations
• Stormwater management design
• Waste sizing evaluations
• Support construction oversight and field activities as needed

Day-to-Day

• Manage assigned projects and serve as a key point of contact for clients
• Partner closely with Project Managers and engineering teams to deliver project milestones
• Prepare site designs, calculations, and permitting documents
• Conduct site visits and field inspections (approximately 20% travel)
• Provide construction-phase support and troubleshoot field issues
• Collaborate with clients to develop tailored solutions that meet project and regulatory requirements
