This position offers an excellent opportunity for an environmental professional looking to expand their technical expertise, gain hands-on project experience, and advance their career in environmental consulting.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in environmental site investigation and remediation, familiarity with New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) regulations, and the ability to balance fieldwork, technical reporting, and project coordination.

You will work alongside experienced environmental professionals and Licensed Site Remediation Professionals (LSRPs), contributing to projects from initial site assessment through investigation, remediation, and regulatory closure.

What You'll Do

Environmental Site Investigation & Remediation

  • Conduct Preliminary Assessments (PA), Site Investigations (SI), and Remedial Investigations (RI) in accordance with NJDEP regulations and technical guidance.
  • Perform and oversee soil and groundwater investigations, including soil borings, monitoring well installation, and environmental sampling.
  • Assist with developing and implementing remedial action strategies.
  • Support remedial construction activities, including contractor coordination, field oversight, and documentation.
  • Conduct site inspections and monitor environmental conditions to support regulatory compliance.

Technical Reporting & Regulatory Compliance

  • Prepare environmental reports, technical documentation, and regulatory submissions in accordance with NJDEP requirements.
  • Assist with Remedial Action Workplans (RAW), Remedial Action Permits (RAP), and Remedial Action Reports (RAR).
  • Prepare and review environmental data deliverables (EDDs), sampling results, and other technical documentation.
  • Coordinate laboratory analyses, review analytical results, and assist with data evaluation.
  • Support LSRPs with regulatory reporting, compliance documentation, and project closeout activities.

Project Coordination & Field Operations

  • Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, laboratories, and clients to support successful project execution.
  • Help organize field activities, sampling events, and contractor schedules.
  • Maintain accurate field records, sampling documentation, and project files.
  • Ensure field activities are performed safely and in accordance with established protocols.
  • Support multiple environmental projects while maintaining project timelines and deliverable quality.

What We're Looking For

  • Approximately 2–5 years of environmental consulting or relevant field experience.
  • Working knowledge of environmental site assessments, soil and groundwater sampling, and site remediation practices.
  • Familiarity with NJDEP regulations, particularly the Technical Requirements for Site Remediation (N.J.A.C. 7:26E).
  • Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites throughout New Jersey.
  • Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification or ability to obtain certification prior to starting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience working on NJDEP-regulated remediation projects.
  • Familiarity with NJDEP Technical Guidance, including Immediate Environmental Concern (IEC) and Vapor Intrusion guidance.
  • Experience using NJDEP Data Miner, environmental databases, GIS software, and electronic data deliverable formats.
  • Experience preparing regulatory reports and coordinating with LSRPs.
  • Experience overseeing drilling contractors, monitoring well installations, or remedial construction activities.
  • Interest in pursuing professional certifications or eventual LSRP licensure.

This position is well suited for an environmental professional who wants to take the next step in their career.

You'll have opportunities to strengthen your technical knowledge, gain exposure to different phases of environmental remediation, and develop your project coordination and management skills.

We are especially interested in candidates who demonstrate initiative, strong problem-solving abilities, and an interest in progressing toward senior technical positions or LSRP licensure.
