Role Summary

Seeking a senior Health IT Data Engineer / Healthcare Interface Engineer with expert-level hands-on experience in Epic Bridges and Cloverleaf . The candidate must have strong production support experience in a live healthcare environment and be able to independently develop, troubleshoot, deploy, and support healthcare interfaces in a 24x7/on-call environment .

Must-Have / Non-Negotiable

• 5+ years hands-on Epic Bridges interface development and production support in a live Epic healthcare environment.
• Epic Bridges Certification – Required.
• 5+ years hands-on HL7 v2.x development and production support using Cloverleaf, InterSystems Ensemble, or Rhapsody .
• Expert knowledge of HL7 ADT, SIU, ORM, ORU, MDM, DFT, RDE, MFN and related workflows.
• Strong X12/EDI interface experience.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve Integration Engine/interface failures .
• Strong understanding of Epic Bridges ↔ Integration Engine message flow and error scenarios .
• Experience supporting 24x7 production/on-call environments .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and support HL7 v2.x interfaces using Epic Bridges and Cloverleaf.
• Design and support Epic Bridges interfaces and vendor integrations connected to Epic.
• Perform HL7 message analysis, mapping, troubleshooting, and error resolution.
• Translate clinical/business requirements into HL7 mappings and interface specifications .
• Perform Epic-side Bridges build/configuration changes .
• Support Epic upgrades, including Nova Notes review, regression testing, and end-to-end validation .
• Monitor interface queues and transaction logs for errors, failures, and latency.
• Coordinate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to communicate issues and impact.
• Ensure integrations meet HIPAA and healthcare security requirements .
• Support production deployments and post-production issues independently.

Strongly Preferred

• Epic Data Courier certification.
• FHIR / API-based integration experience.
• Secure connectivity: VPN, TLS, SFTP .
• HIE, external registry, and cloud integration experience.
• Python, Java, .NET, or JavaScript scripting.
• AI agent development experience.
